    Brush Hog size L4060

Your tractor puts out 32.5 hp at the PTO. That's a hair over half the minimum recommended hp for that brush cutter. Lighter duty would be very advisable.

Implement storage is getting to be a real problem!

Yes, it's not a foolproof solution, but I find that it works much better than no racks at all. I am able to keep seven or eight implements out of the weather and can access any of them in 15 minutes or less.

Implement storage is getting to be a real problem!

Just another variation on the FEL and lighter attachments on shelves and 3 point attachments on the ground. Sometimes I wish I had the concrete floor and may add it at some point down the road. One 10x25' enclosed bay with roll-up and three open bays same size.

Biggest log I've had in my Grapple so far

I have two red oak logs, one 10' and one 12', both roughly 20-22", that I plan to grapple with my L4610. Not anticipating any problems, but I do plan to counterbalance with my 6' bush hog and go verrrryyyyyyy slooooooowwwwwly.

LP FSP700 Spreader setting for buckwheat seed

Anyone know how I can find out the correct setting to use for speading buckwheat seed using an LP FSP700 broadcast spreader. The spreading chart in the manual doesn't seem to cover seed that size and weight.

    L4610 Hand throttle sticky

The hand throttle on my L4610 is very difficult to adjust over about 1800 rpms. Is there an adjustment for this? Anything I need to check?

    Replace battery in L4610

I need to change the battery in my L4610, but I can't figure out how to access the area behind the grill where the battery is mounted to its tray. Does anyone have instructions on how to do this?

How much is too much weight?

Yes, the pulverized kind is way less expensive. Good idea to buy the spreader and sell it when he was finished, as long as he got most of his money back out of it.

How much is too much weight?

I tried that route, but my fields were tough to access and only totaled around four acres. They told me for a full year that conditions were too wet to get a truck in there, but I think my job was just too small to bother with. I bought a Landpride FSP700 for waaaaaay too much money, but I...

How much is too much weight?

Greensville, I cleared three fields that were previously hardwoods. When I had the soil tested, I had ph levels in the 4.5-5 range, with recommendations from VA Tech to add up to NINE TONS of lime in one of the fields. Of course, you can't do that all in one shot, so I'm starting with 1.5 tons...

How much is too much weight?

That actually is a good rule of thumb to know. It also tells me that I exceeded the limits of my tractor and FEL. My FEL is an LA854 and I offloaded four approximately 2000-lb loads, not including forks and pallets. That said, I did have a 6-foot brush hog counterbalance on the 3-point.

How much is too much weight?

Thanks for the advice, guys. All of it was spot on. I got the four 2900 lb pallets back from the quarry and didn't even attempt to lift them. I off-loaded about 900 lbs by hand, 40 lbs at a time, from each one and then, verrry slowly and verrrry carefully, I was able to lift and curl them and...

How much is too much weight?

Thanks Torch. I think I knew this before even asking about it, but I just didn't want to face those 40 lb bags by hand. I appreciate the voice of reason.

How much is too much weight?

I have an L4610. I am wondering if I can offload pallets of pelletized lime that weigh around 2900 lbs each (70 bags at 40 lbs each, plus pallet) with my FEL. The pallets will be on a flatbed trailer that is about 2' up from the ground, so I will not even begin to approach full height. I will...

    New L4701 or used L4610

Current owner used the tractor for "grooming meadows and fields." I guess my question at this point is how to determine if the machine is indeed in "like new" condition. I'm no mechanic and even less of a Kubota expert. If it was a used car, I'd take it to my trusted mechanic. In this case...

    New L4701 or used L4610

Thanks Mickey. It's got 395 hours and the guy has all of the maintenance paperwork/logs. Typically, how often should i expect the regens and for how long? Assuming the machine is in good shape, does the price seem to be in the right ballpark?

    New L4701 or used L4610

Wow, am I glad to have found this place. New member here and I need a tractor desperately. We own 40 mostly wooded acres in the Virginia Blue Ridge foothills and the ATV, manual labor and borrowing of equipment just don't cut it any more. I will be doing a lot of clearing work - trees, dead...
