    B7100 non-HST, PTO won't spin rotate

Just as North Idaho Wolfman indicated above, the problem was that a coupler dropped off the shaft when I took it out. It was on the bottom of the trans housing, just behind the pto plate. All is well now. The Woods mini bushhog uses a shear pin pto collar slipped over the gear case input shaft...

    B7100 non-HST, PTO won't spin rotate

Thanks for the information and link. It's a Woods Billy Goat bush hog. I was going to cut a little off the shaft last year but there was something odd about having to do that--I think the configuration of the metal safety shield-- which wasn't simple, although I am sure it could be done.

    B7100 non-HST, PTO won't spin rotate

Thanks so much for your assistance! That must be what happened. Glad I won't have to split the trans! The tractor serial number is 87001-41171. The parts list which came with the tractor, does not show a one-way clutch. It is a nusiance that the little bush hog must be completely stopped...

    B7100 non-HST, PTO won't spin rotate

Thanks. No clack clack clack, sounds the same CW as CCW, just a little sound either way as the gear teeth mesh. I might have had the bottom shaft out.

    B7100 non-HST, PTO won't spin rotate

After replacing the PTO seal on this non-HST B7100 D Kubota, the PTO won't spin! This tractor has a PTO selector lever on the operator's left, with three speeds and neutrals in between. It is necessary to disengage the engine clutch to do the shifting. The PTO was working before the seal was...

    Battery for a B7001 / B7100

I ended up with the Advance Auto Platinum AGM 51R. It has a 3 year warranty, 100% refund, but after that, you are on your own. It was twice the cost of the non-AGM battery. It has a carry handle and says it is made in Korea.

    Battery for a B7001 / B7100

Doesn't look like Deka has a 51R AGM, but I see Exide does, FPAGM51R. Also, Advance Auto has a "Platinum" Series 51R AGM. I guess because of the rarity of size, you pay more for this AGM than you would, say for a large tractor or automobile.

    Battery for a B7001 / B7100

Very little use on a 51R Interstate Battery on a b7100, in two years. Won't hold a charge now. My guess is vibration killed it. Looking for an AGM 51R. Seem to be uncommon but looks like Exide makes one.

B7100 cam plug low oil pressure and dynamo bearing replacement

It is a Woods bush hog. Uses sway chains instead of a top link. Mower is too heavy for the tractor to lift completely off the ground.

B7100 cam plug low oil pressure and dynamo bearing replacement

Hello folks. Been over a year. Just updated the picture links, switching from Photobucket to Imgur, for the pic host. I also added a few more pictures and did some other editing. Here are a few final shots of the tractor back together, with painted wheels and new tires. I used Allis Chalmers...

B7100 cam plug low oil pressure and dynamo bearing replacement

Yes. You will have to take out all of those bolts. With the floor jack under the engine, you will be able to control the brace bars as they separate. Be careful that the front axle does not go squirrelly on you--chock the front wheel or brace the axle some other way. It is also possible that the...

B7100 cam plug low oil pressure and dynamo bearing replacement

That was a smart invention, and the picture of what you did was priceless. I'll remember your trick should I ever run into a similar situation. I am glad you found my thread helpful and good luck to you. I am glad you bumped this. I always like to "clean up" my posts after I have forgotten...

    B7100 replacement aftermarket seat choices

Nice looking seat. Love the armrests. Here are the Kubota seat brackets, cut off of the old seat. On the right bracket, you can see the existing hole which is prefect for installing the seat holding bolt: One holder bracket installed. You can see how it abuts the seat flange, and you can see...

    B7100 replacement aftermarket seat choices

Thanks for all the advice! I had not received notifications of replies, so I guess I need to check my forum settings. I went with a non-suspension Tractor Supply seat. It is called "Black Talon". I think it was around $130. I cut the two brackets off the old Kubota seat. They are sloppily...

    Hour meter question

Is it possible to run a mechanical tachometer/hourmeter on a B7100 which originally had an electric hour-meter? Also, is there a suitable aftermarket electric hour-meter for the same tractor? The original Seiko hour-meter does not work. I am tempted to disassemble it to determine the cause of...

    B7100 replacement aftermarket seat choices

Thank you for your reply and pictures. I see from your pictures that you left in the rear bracket which anchors the fenders, or maybe I am seeing something else?

    B7100 replacement aftermarket seat choices

kubota B7100. I need a replacement seat. The old seat pan is rusted through. This particular tractor has a pivot bracket in the front, so the seat will fold down over the steering wheel, and a bracket in the rear which has two rubber cushioning pillars. Also, that rear bracket spans the...

    Hour meter question

To be reminded to turn the key off, you can hook up a bright light on the dash to the ignition switch "switched power". The light will stay on after the engine is shut-off as a reminder to turn off the key. Even better is to hook up a peizo buzzer, switched power on one leg and the other leg...

B7100 cam plug low oil pressure and dynamo bearing replacement

All the engine and dynamo work is completed and after running the old oil and filter for about 15 minutes, I changed it all out to new. However, I have a major problem: in while attempting to drive in the new front bushing on the front axle for the new pivot pin, I noticed that the top of the...

B7100 cam plug low oil pressure and dynamo bearing replacement

From the diagram in the parts manual, looks like there is supposed to be a cover for the shaft stub held on by one bolt. Missing this, but the area is pretty well shielded from operator contact so I am going to leave it alone. Added a few more part numbers to the earlier parts of the post...
