    Questions from a soon-to-be B7100HST-D owner

I live in Olympia, WA. There's a guy an hour or so away that builds FEL's and ships them around the country. He also sells tractors locally with his FEL's added. Coldwater Tractors: 360 533 2160 http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/196284-my-new-coldwater-front-end.html Here's...

Kubota HP ratings, new vs. old

I'm thinking the B1700 torque is probably on par with the BX25 at the same RPM? So in order to take advantage of the higher torque of the BX25, you would have to have the engine revved at 3K or so. People tend to do most FEL and 3-point tasks at lower than 3K RPM, so perhaps the torque advantage...

Kubota HP ratings, new vs. old

Interesting. So the physical stature of the B1700 allows it to handle more lifting power. Based on your formula, my calculation has the BX25 having about 35% more HP, 13% more torque, and 8% higher hydraulic flow rate than than the B1700. Despite having less flow rate, torque, and HP, the B1700...

Kubota HP ratings, new vs. old

Do the newer Kubota tractors use a phony HP rating, or is the torque less per HP, or something else? My B1700D has far less HP and lifts far more weight. Why is this? bx25: 23 engine HP; 17.7 pto max lift fel: LA240 X 2.2 = 528 lbs Rear lift (at ends): 991 lbs b1700d: 17 engine HP; 14 pto...

    la271 vs la301

Update: I found the parts manuals for the LA271 and the LA301. The frame, loader, boom, bucket, cylinders, etc are the exact same part numbers. There are some minor differences in a few ancillary hydraulic part numbers, but when I looked up the parts they superseded to, both loaders resolved...

    B1700 Hydraulic Leak

North Idaho Wolfman: Once I learned how to read the symbols (in the parts manual) showing which parts fit which serial numbers and which parts are interchangeable with other parts, I realized the part you linked does fit my tractor. Also, it's the more expensive part that would cost me $150...

    B1700 Hydraulic Leak

I went to the main two hydraulic shops in my town today. Both places were unable to make the power steering line, because it uses metric fittings. So I took it to the Kubota shop, and they said they can't make one because it's a steel line. They only make hoses. I asked if they could make a hose...

    B1700 Hydraulic Leak

Thanks for your reply. Looking closer at my pipe and the one on eBay, they both use straight ends with flare nut sleeves as opposed to the pipe ends being flared. Since mine broke perfectly at the edge of the old sleeve, I might be able to just use a new sleeve. Then again, there's probably a...

    B1700 Hydraulic Leak

I found that my power steering inflow line is broken off at the tip where it fits into the collar. It's part number 6C042-39220, which is listed online as discontinued. However, it's available with a 7-day lead time for $115.00. How difficult/expensive is it to have one of these made locally? Is...

    B1700 Hydraulic Leak

Hmmm, you could be right. The first photo shows oil that pooled in the top of the nut. This indicates the oil probably drained down from above the nut. In addition, the oil dispursed in all directions once it made its way to the deck. This explains how it got on the transmission case below the...

    B1700 Hydraulic Leak

I bought a 1998 Kubota B1700 with 115 hours on it (looks like new). However, I was dumping a heavy load of dirt in a tight area while turning the front wheels really sharp (near the edge of a bank), and afterward I noticed a lot of hydraulic oil spilled onto the ground. I looked under the...

    la271 vs la301

I see two relief valves that can be adjusted (besides the one for the power steering). One is under the seat and is spec'd at 1920 to 1991 psi. I'm thinking this adjusts the pressure for the 3 point? The other is in the hydraulic control valve for the FEL. This is spec'd at 1900 to 2000 for the...

    la271 vs la301

I recently purchased a 1998 Kubota B1700 with 115 hours on it. The tractor is in excellent condition, but I found out B1700 tractors typically come with the la301 loader. My tractor has the la271 loader, which is rated at 65 pounds less lift capacity than the la301. As you can see in the...
