    Hydro cylinder

I've worked my way back to the control valve. I'm going to pull it tomm, and being it is serviceable, take it apart, clean and ring it. Oil level is in the range, and system comes with a spin on filter I'll replace after service just to ensure it good. Replacing lines as well while I'm under...

    Hydro cylinder

Bolens 5020H. Have trouble with the hydro cylinder lifting the rear implements. The cylinder cycles completely, with no load, but hesitates under load or doesn't lift at all. Pressure shows in the required range. I re-ringed the piston and clean honed the cylinder. I did not change the hydro...

    Eaton Hydro, Model 11, Bolens

Picked up an old Bolens 5020H. Hydro unit with Model 11 Eaton trans. Charge pump leaks like bad enough it irks me. The pump mounts onto the front of the hydro and fits into your hand when off. Simple rotor drive. Has two square cut o-rings for mounting seals. Do you think I can substitute...

    Bucket chain hooks?

Welded two chain hooks to outside of bucket, and drilled and mounted trailer ball on top of bucket to move around goosenecks, etc, with loader. Use the chain hooks all the time for lifting, pulling, etc. The ball mount is extremely handy. Tractor is a m6800, w/la1162 loader.

    Help with sprayer

Assuming your bar is at least 4ft w/2 nozzles, 6-7ft coverage, and your pump was running the whole time, you should have noticeable usage of fluid from your tank. My concern is an over application of roundup on acre lot from an hour of spraying. Any local farm store or dealer should have...

    old tractors restored on PBS

I watch that from time to time as well. Saw a Mecum tractor auction the other day. An original 1952 "H", not a super, sold for $40k. Made that 4020 before it look like a bad buy.

    Barn lot weeds

Wait till winter, disc around it twice, and set it ablaze. Let it sit all winter, then attempt to burn whatever is left again before it regreens in spring.

    New vendor, very satisfied

A lot of times, various vendors are posted on here. Needed new blades for the old 84" finish mower. Dealer wanted $55/blade x3 = $$$. Did about an hour of online shopping, and found a vendor I'd never seen. Called, got a live, well informed person. Gave me a 10% discount, and ended up...

    Orange dually

Saw my first big kubota in the field, flashing duals, and turning some dirt. The guy was pulling at least a 25' disc towing a cultipacker, prepping lightly for bean planting. Had to stop and watch, but he was too far back to get a good pic with the cell. Looked like a newer series, and was...

    Gator blade for 60" MMM

Believe it or not, I actually buy my blades from the local NAPA store, cheap, and USA made. They have a catalog for all makes blades, by either mower brand/part no. Big advantage with gators; quiet (less hummmmm), less vacuum (no slinging rocks and sticks buried in grass), and just overall...

    Tarter 6' Landscape Rake

Look on Craigslist. Unless I was going to use it all the time, there's no need to spend more than $250 on a rake. I picked up a lightly used KK XB 60" for $275, looked brand new, but guy swore he used it. Sure as heck beat $435 from TSC. I use it for my driveway, level truck patch, push big...

HF quick hitch won't fit my stuff

A torch, hammer, grinder, and paint go a long way in getting that quick hitch to work the way you thought it would when you bought it. P.S, use the above mentioned only on the implements

    Land Pride quick connect?

Save some cash and continue to shop. LP is like the Green machine, $$$$$! Look at Speeco, or what you're local ag store has to offer.

    Implement Carts

I found two metal warehouse carts some years back at an auction , and I use one to put my LP tiller on. Its 32x50, 6" clearance w/greaseable casters. Best parts, has the handle for easy pushing. Just roll it over behind the tractor and attach it while on the cart. Nice job.

    Planter size for 30hp Kubota

What type of four row, an old IH, deere? A four row before the 7000 Deere series, I would assume would pull fine behind 30hp w/fwd. Considering your not planting super deep, and the ground is worked. But, my question is, how much ground are you covering with a 4 row. I could plant a lot of...

    Cultivator advice.

I bought a nice dearborn two row, cut in two sections, and made a three point hitch for the other section. I got it at an auction for $150. Now I have a middle buster/one row cult, hipper/hiller, and a dedicated cultivator with 4" sweeps. One unit became two. Best part, the old dearborn...

3 pt. counterweight for B7100 with FEL

I use a drawbar with two old 100lb disc weight mounted to the bar. The old weights had recesses for bolts for frame mounts, so I just run bolts thru the drawbar with washers on top. The weights are circlular, about 5 inches wide, about a foot tall. Take up little space, and best thing, I can...

    Stained concrete floors

My aunt and uncle in Alabama stained their entire basement floor. It's a lakefront walkout with good lighting from many windows. They are a (LOT$$$$) better off than me. We my wife and I first visited, I told her I couldn't believe they put marble floors in. It wasn't marble, the stain...

    Ethanol gas

Unfourtunately, many of us here in the midwest live under the corn tsars and thier minoins in the state legislatures. The false narrative of mandatory ethanol blends to reduce CO2 emissions is a gimmick to create antoher market for excess corn. Mileage sucks, eats the snot out of rubber...
