L2550 looses power and sputters after warm up.

I think I got it today although not sure the exact cause. I ran it till it acted up and switched the line from the tank/filter to a jug/line I rigged up to the inlet to the lift pump. Opened the bleeder for a minute and ran fine. I drained the tank, pulled the filter housing and fuel line to...

L2550 looses power and sputters after warm up.

I'm also gonna rig a temparary tank straight to the lift pump to bypass the main tank and filter and see what that does.

L2550 looses power and sputters after warm up.

Well.......replaced the O Ring and fuel lines. I thought it was a long shot but cheap. Still runs perfectly for 20 minutes then starts acting up. Had no air at the bleeder when cold and had air bubbles when warm. Filter bowl is perfectly clear with no bubbles. Have to jump the clutch safety...

L2550 looses power and sputters after warm up.

Thanks guys. I've decided that I may be getting air from the filter o ring or line. I messed with the filter before this all started. I keep seeing air at the new lift pump just like the old one (that's why I changed it). It may be taking that long to build up enough air and not the heating up...

L2550 looses power and sputters after warm up.

Just finished bleeding lines at the injectors.....twice. Still the same thing. Had the cap off several times but will try while running. And may bleed again.

L2550 looses power and sputters after warm up.

Did a search and saw another similar problem but he had gelling in 0 degree weather. I'm on the MS gulf coast and 75 degrees. Till now its run flawlessly for years. 1600 hrs on it. I'm an old school 70's 80's auto mechanic with 4 years of schooling. 1st- I ran it till the fuel filter stopped up...

    Crapsman Vs Deere

I have a 2000 model Craftsman tractor with the Kohler motor and hydrostatic drive. I don't have a professional lawn service but I cut 2 acres and in the south that's late March thru late October. I also have a 20 year old bagger attachment and use it to pick up leaves in the fall and spring (I...

    L2550 4WD PTO Won't Disengage w/Clutch

Tried to adjust the clutch and of course the linkage was froze up. After much work and the help of a torch got it free. Adjusted the clutch and it now works. The second stage has a pretty strong spring pressure but I'll get used to it. Now I learned about 2 stage clutches. Thanks everyone! :D

    L2550 4WD PTO Won't Disengage w/Clutch

Bro in law came over and said I had too much free play in pedal. Will adjust it after church and see what happens. Hope it's that simple. First one I've had with a 2 stage clutch. (I think)

    L2550 4WD PTO Won't Disengage w/Clutch

My bro in law is a Kubota lover and he says it does. The clutch engages the tranny near the top of the pedal travel and works fine. Did a little cutting with it today but still not releasing. When I push the clutch in, the tractor stops but the pto doesn't. I've read that there's been many of...

    L2550 4WD PTO Won't Disengage w/Clutch

I just got a 5' Land Pride med. duty clipper for my L2550. Couldn't engage the PTO while running, gears were grinding. Killed engine, engaged PTO and started. Pto won't disengage when I press the clutch, like the clutch is stuck. Pto hasn't been used in 8 yrs, at least. I cut some brush while...
