    Hydraulics theory and operation

Thanks for the reply Mag. I ended up biting the bullet and upgrading the whole controller from surplus center. The snow in my driveway is piling up here in colorado and needed to get the tractor in service. So if anyone is looking for a controller w/out powerbeyond, I have one for sale. I've...

    BT1200 Loader parts help

I'm hoping I get lucky and somebody out at OTT might be able to help. I have two questions. I'm trying to track down the parts number for a power beyond adapter from a 1980 kubota l245dt. The loader is a BT1200, and the loader control is an old victor fluid power controller. I think there is an...

South, that is the same controller! But it was already gone when I called!

    Hydraulics theory and operation

I really appreciate everyone's help on this. I think I've got it whipped, finally. I ended up tearing the valve completely a part. At some point before I purchased the tractor, someone removed the PB fitting inside the valving. So, the return line and the PB ports share the same fluid. This...

I'm thinking along the same lines. I'll give it a shot and post back. Thanks MagKarl.

    Hydraulics theory and operation

I spent more time on the controller today and pulled the spools. Things look pretty good in there. It did get me start thinking about how fluid moves through the valve. I'm beginning to wonder wheather the PB lines are hooked up to the correct ports on the controller. The two lines (horizontal)...

    Hydraulics theory and operation

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on... I tore into the controller today, replaced the o-rings on the relief and cleaned it up. Still acting the same, loader works no hitch lift. The controller is marked victor fluid power corp, but I couldn't find any literature on the controller. Did you just...

    Hydraulics theory and operation

There's a relief on the block, I was just wondering if the control would also have one?

    Hydraulics theory and operation

Manofaus, thanks for offering advice. I'm pretty new to all this, but just did a quick study on open vs. closed valving. So if I'm understanding correctly, if the valving is closed center, the pump would continue to supply pressure and the relief would activate dumping fluid back into the tranny...

    Hydraulics theory and operation

Re: Hydraulics theory and operation (getting closer) Ok, I think I'm almost there but wanted to get OTT's thoughts on this.... Soi was planning on diving into the rock housing once again to check a few things when I thought I might just try on thing before draining the hydro fluid again. My...

    Hydraulics theory and operation

Thanks for the reply. Did the damaged o-ring on your machine affect the operation of your FEL? Both the back-up ring and o-ring on the piston both seemed to be in decent condition on my tractor - no tears noted.

    Hydraulics theory and operation

I pulled the hydraulic cylinder cover today to inspect the inside of the vent tube and the o-rings on the hydraulic cylinder itself. The o-rings were fine both on the cover and on the piston within the cylinder. However it looks like something, maybe a piece of metal might have gotten trapped...

    Hydraulics theory and operation

I bought a l245dt w/ a FEL a month or so ago and have been lurking in the shadows since then using the vast amount of knowledge here to remedy quite a few issues. However, one still remains - the weak 3 point lift. It seems like there are lots of threads as this seems to be a common issue, and...

    L235 Hydraulics Relief Valve??????

amaurymsa, Sorry this took so long, here's the vent tube I was reffering to...this is a photo of the left side (sitting on tractor) of the tractor directly below my seat - it's the bent tube in the middle of the photo. It's threaded into the case and should screw out. I've got my hydraulic...

    L235 Hydraulics Relief Valve??????

Hey one other quick question - does any air have to be bleed from the hydraulic system after cleaning the reflief valave? Thanks.

    L235 Hydraulics Relief Valve??????

MikeL - thanks for the help. The loader seems to run fine, lifts good and strong - the 3 pt hitch on the other hand is the one that struggles with even light loads. That said, can we assume the pump is putting out sufficient pressure? Like I said I'm pretty green with hydraulic systems, and...

    L235 Hydraulics Relief Valve??????

Newbie here - this is my first go at hydraulics, I just bought a l245dt :D My 3pt lift is pretty weak and scouring the wealth of info on OTT, I've flushed the hydro/tranny fluid, replaced hydraulic screen and cleaned out vent tube. It seems better, but still not getting the lift I need for the...
