The 1 in 7 was designed for the ridiculously long tracers used now. A 1 in 9 or even 1 in 8 will stabilize most everything you will feed it. I shoot 3gun for a rifle manufacturer and we stabilize 77gr SMK with a 1 in 8 barrel. If you do go 1 in 7 keep it 50gr or more. Some light rounds suffer...
