    B2601 hill mowing advice

Here's a follow-up since I finished mowing. I managed to do the steeper areas I had been concerned about. I put them off until I had done most of the other mowing. This helped since I gained confidence with the tractor the more I used it. What ended up working best for me was to just drive...

    new tractor stalling

Just to give an update and likely final post on this... The stalling or power loss issue hasn't come back. I'm at about 17 hour now and finished the big mowing job I had to do. Even the momentary ones I got on the 2nd day stopped happening. I did adjust the seat forward a bit, though I'm...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I made a lot of progress brush hogging our field today. I've got 10 hours on my new B2601 now.

    new tractor stalling

I do need to slide the seat forward a bit. I wasn't sure if there was an adjustment for that. I felt around under it while I was going and didn't find it. I'll look again. I could definitely eat more pizza. I like that solution best.

    new tractor stalling

I had a much better day today. I used the tractor brush hogging for 2.5 hours or so, and it never stalled. I'm not sure what was different or what the problem was yesterday exactly. But, it was really nice to use the new tractor. It performed great and felt great. I'm pleased with the...

    new tractor stalling

Thanks for the replies. I'm planning to go out today (though, it's cold, brrr) and do some seat wiggling to see if it will trigger. I actually went out after I posted yesterday and stood up while moving to trigger the seat and it did happen, though I recovered easily by sitting back. It...

    new tractor stalling

I just got my B2601 delivered 2 days ago. It has less than 2 hours on it. It seems to run fine, but then it will lose power/rpms for no apparent reason every few minutes. Usually it stalls and the engine stops, but it will sometimes recover and avoid stalling. It always starts right back up...

    B2601 hill mowing advice

Brush hog is the right term for the mower I got and what I'm doing. I need to work on my tractor terminology. We mow just once a year in October. We let it grow wild otherwise. The grass isn't a big concern, but I need to take down the saplings and bushes to keep the field a field. We...

    B2601 hill mowing advice

Thanks for the replies. Yup, I bought it from Townline (small world!) It's nice having them so close. The 48" mower I'm getting is a 3-point attachment, not a belly mower (nor is it a flail, just rotary as far as I know). My B2601 will have industrial tires (unsure on the R number). I got...

    B2601 hill mowing advice

I've been mowing 11 acres of wild field for many years using an ATV with a tow-behind rough cut mower. These mowers don't last and don't do a great job. So, we finally decided to buy a tractor. I have a B2601 with a 48" mower ordered (should be ready in a week or so). I'm excited but I have...
