Well, mowing around trees today, got close to large limb. Snagged steering wheel and broke the mount. This is the entire cast piece that hold the battery, etc. It's going to be a PITA to take this all apart and replace. Can't image what the cost will be. It's aluminum.

Set is on. I bought the mechanical version for $700. Worth every penny for me. Easy to put on. The steel plate they provide was a perfect match up for mounting. Came with seat belts and OPS installed. The ride is great.

I agree, price is high. My back is toast though and where I mow has lots of roots and ruts and I'm at the age where I need to do EVERYTHING I can to baby my back, including spending 1K for a seat. Otherwise, I don't mow at all.

This place http://www.turfseats.com/p-2059-kubota-bx-series-km-136-seat-kits.aspx offers a air seat for the 1870. I am wondering if anyone has ever put an air seat on the 1870. I tried a different aftermarket seat (I detroit) but I sat too high so returned it. Thanks.

Found a dealer near me that found the older ROPS from an 1860 would go on perfectly. Bought them and they went on perfect. What a change mowing. No more snagging on trees. Anyone want to buy a folding ROPS?

I don't want ROPS off, I want them smaller. My trees are too small to cut at this point.
