Hi Vic: I'm sort of mechanically able, I do have the shop manual and I have changed the transmission fluid. I don't have the manual with me right now (I am at work). Is removing the top of the transmission something you have to have experience to do?

Thanks very much for the help. The noise is not present when the tractor is in 2 wheel drive - just 4 wheel drive. The noise is there when the tractor is in neutral, clutch out, in hi and going down a hill. I didn't remember to try it with the hi/lo in neutral as well. Will do that later...

I only tried it in first and reverse and it make the noise in both. Thanks for your help.
