    Computer virus

On the risk of getting back on topic, We've been affected by the Cyberwall twice and it is a nasty one. Had a computer tech try to clean it once, but it either came back or never was cleaned completely the first time. The second time I did a clean reload from the factory disk. This is a nasty...

Anybody else have issues with the forum service?

Hodge, that's usually my routine, too. I haven't had any trouble as of yesterday. (There was only one page of unreads this morning). If that changes, I'll let you know.

Jacking up a l3800 one side

That's a good point, Hai. I haven't tried it yet. I kind of had my doubts, too.

Jacking up a l3800 one side

Well, with the valve at 12 o'clock, when I depress that valve pin, I get liquid. Are you all saying that I can fasten the compressor hose on the valve and pump air into the tire without worrying that the liquid will foul the air pressure gauge on the compressor? Remember, this is just a little...

Jacking up a l3800 one side

Thanks for your tips, guys. I guess I was kinda worried about the little compressor I use for tires. It's one of those light duty ac/dc Black and Decker jobs used for car tires, basketballs, bicycles, etc. And of course it has an inline gauge. I just thought jacking that tire off the ground and...

Jacking up a l3800 one side

I think I've allowed one of my rear tires to lose a lot of air. It ain't flat, cause it is a filled tire, but when I tried to check the tire pressure with the valve in the "12 o'clock position", I got mostly liquid. I don't think my gauge is gonna pull through. Dang, I liked that gauge. I've...

    Fueling my L3800 sucks !

Hey, PWM3rd, I go along with DanDan and Bluegill. That can in your picture ain't a No-Spill brand can. Some of 'em may say they are no spill, but the actual No-Spill brand can is a whole nother animal. I've never had a problem with the No-Spill brand can. It works great.

    Tool box

Sorry, Mike3656, didn't mean to hijack your post, but thanks, Skeets and IMFoghorn, for those links to ammo boxes.

    Tool box

Mike3656, Sorry, don't know the answer to your question, but sure would like to see pics of your tool boxes. Do you know a good place to look for the ammo boxes? Sounds like you made good use of both the boxes!

Adjusting top links and lifting rod

Now that sounds like a good idea. I just have to make sure it will fit in that pitiful little toolbox.

Adjusting top links and lifting rod

I may have caused some confusion by my use of the terminology on those tractor parts. When I was speaking of breaking an adjusting rod, I was speaking of the handle coming out of the adjusting part of the lift link or top link. In different diagrams I have seen, they have been designated as rods...

Adjusting top links and lifting rod

Thanks, RDR. I'm a year older than you and I've been working tractors since I was uh 62, so I appreciate good tips like yours and the other guys. Hopefully I can learn. I mentioned in my original post about using the closed end of a wrench, or the hole, as a lever on the rods of the adjusting...

Adjusting top links and lifting rod

Thanks for all those suggestions guys. After I posted that today I went out and it seemed a little easier to adjust those links, but the rain kinda shut me down for continued practice. I'll get back on it tomorrow. Been trying to work on my road and I've found that I need to adjust that box...

Adjusting top links and lifting rod

Hello everyone. I got a new L3800 about a month ago and it's my first tractor. I've never had so much fun going so slow. However, I am regretting the fact that Wheaties were never my first choice for breakfast. I'm having a hard time trying to adjust the top link and the adjustable lift rod. I...
