    FEL Connector Cable Trouble

Dave, This was helpful - even though the machines are different. I locked the FEL joystick and then used that as the alignment point. After adjusting the new part (#110) on the cable to align with the locked joystick, I locked it down with the nut and then screwed the other end into the...

    FEL Connector Cable Trouble

Dave - yes, part 110 was originally connected to the cable that broke. I did reuse the part 110 when I installed the new cable, so your hypothesis has merit. The previous cable seemed to have had an internal failure, nothing that could be seen on the outside of the cable. I spoke with a...

    FEL Connector Cable Trouble

I did replace the entire cable, re-using the two ends (part 110). I did route it the same way and it seemed to work just fine until the top end piece broke a few days ago. Did I overtighten the bolt? - quite possibly. I will make sure I don't overtighten it when I do the re-install later this...

    FEL Connector Cable Trouble

A bit of background . . . I purchased my 2012 Grand L5740HSTC with 250 hrs in 2017. Now it has 450 hours. 6 weeks ago, the cable that connects the FEL joystick to the up/down hydraulic valve broke rendering the FEL unusable. The second cable that controls the curl function was still working...

    FEL JoyStick Assembly Cable Replacement

Okay - thanks to Tornado and the referenced post on TractorbyNet I was able to successfully replace the assembly cable. It was not a difficult job - just a few tight locations that would have been better served with a stubby wrench versus the full sized wrenches that I have. Nonetheless, I was...

    FEL JoyStick Assembly Cable Replacement

This is EXACTLY my situation! Very good to hear it is a straight forward repair. My part is ordered and should arrive tomorrow. I'll report back on how it goes! Thanks again for sharing this link!

    FEL JoyStick Assembly Cable Replacement

I am able to operate the hydraulics manually by moving the lever that the cable is attached to, so I don't think there are any hydraulic issues. The cable seems to have a spring inside of it such that it moves when I disconnect it and operate the Joystick, but when there is pressure on the...

    FEL JoyStick Assembly Cable Replacement

Hoping someone out there can help me with this repair or at least share some related experiences. My wife was using our Grand L5740 HSTC-3 tractor yesterday for moving material in the FEL. At some point, the FEL stopped working in the down position and only went up at a snails pace. The curl...

    Hydraulic fluid leak when hot?

Andy, My wife says no more projects until I get the work shop cleaned up - just no more room to work! In all honesty, she is right - I can't even find some of my tools!! Once I get the work shop organized, I'm going to start in on this job. Do you mind if I PM you on specific questions as I...

    Hydraulic fluid leak when hot?

Andy, Looks like I will be doing the same job on my L3540. Starting leaking earlier this summer and I'm suspecting it is the propeller shaft seal. Thanks for sharing your experience - it's going to be a great help once I get into it. Thomas

    Hydraulic fluid leak when hot?

I also have a similar leak on my L3540. Same spot. I have approximately 450hrs on the tractor and never had any issues. Wow - splitting the transmission sure seems like a big job!

L3800 HST Aux Work Light Mounting

Here's where I ended up putting my switches. I did the same mod, adding 4 x 27w LEDs. All the wiring is hidden under the surface and connected to the aux light fuse that came with my Grand L 3540. Hope this helps.

    FEL Forks on the L3540

Paul, I am really happy with the forks and now that I have used them a bit I can certainly relate to the cautionary tale you have told. I was just getting used to how far out the bucket was, and now the forks go out even further! I will hopefully not have to learn the hard way!! Thomas

    FEL Forks on the L3540

Eric, Funny you should bring up the topic of positioning the forks. I found that it did take a little getting used to, especially trying to hit the openings on the sides. If I stood up, I could see the tips, but with the seat cutoff switch I couldn't move the tractor in a standing up...

    FEL Forks on the L3540

Scott, My first tractor was an old Ford 4000 with a FEL and a brush hog. I got so much use out of that tractor for the 2 years I owned it and the best part is that I sold it for more than I paid for it!! Now that I have this Kubota with quick attach, the uses are almost endless. All last...
