    Shear Pins

FYI, Tractor Supply has grade 2 bolts (shear bolts) in the fastener isle. They will have no markings on the head of the bolt. Grade 5 bolts have 3 marks on the bolt head. Grade 8 bolts have 5 markings on the head. When starting up your PTO, engage it at idle or slightly above idle, and then...

    Deere wheels on Kubota

Just sold my rear old wheels and tires on Craigslist for $400. Glad to get rid of em. They take up too much room.

    Check your pressure

FYI, the bigger your tires are, the flatter the tires can get in cold weather. When it's cold the air molecules move slower and they take up less space than they do when the air is warm. If the pressure gets low enough then you can develop an air leak around the rim, then the problem is even...

    Anyone wax their tractor?

Wax will not fix scratches. It can only hide them a little. To actually fix scratches you need to use polish. Think of polish as a really light abrasive that smoothes out the scratch so that it doesn't reflect light, and almost disappears. You can polish by hand, but itll leave your arms sore...

    Anyone wax their tractor?

Yes. I have actually polished and waxed my tractor. Polishing is where the real work is, but it makes a wax job look better. I used to detail cars for a living when I was younger. It's work!

    Check your pressure

The big temperature drop this week really made my tires go flat. So keep an eye on your psi. The pressure varies depending on the tractor and the tires, but mine are 20psi in the rear, and 29psi in the fronts.

    Deere wheels on Kubota

Wow. Plus your tires probably hold about 30 gallons each, right? So after labor that's like $11 a gallon!

    Deere wheels on Kubota

The Rim Gaurd dealer said the price should be $3 to $3.50 per gallon, plus labor.

    turn up fuel

A year ago I did this on my little Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel that's in my 2012 Polaris Ranger. I opened it about a half turn I think. It did get me a couple more MPH, but it does smoke a lot more if you put the pedal to the floor. It doesn't smoke any more than stock if I stop at about 3/4 throttle.

    Deere wheels on Kubota

My tires are 14.9 x 28, so they required 53 gallons per tire. 106 gallons. At about 11 pounds a gallon that's 1166 pounds. 2 hours labor $165. $339.20 for 106 gallons of Rim Guard. That's $504 plus tax.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Drilled two holes in the bottom and bolted it down through that cross bar, with fender washers and silicone sealant on both sides of the holes. The ammo box already has a nice rubber gasket on the lid and tight clamping latch.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I like the 7.62mm ammo can because it's narrower than most other ammo boxes. There's some on eBay.

Not sure. But I'd like to see pics of this project. Was it pretty rough? Get a good deal?

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

New Rear tires and got em filled with Rim Guard, which added 1200 pounds to the rear. Much more stable now. Also notice my new tool box. It's a 7.62mm ammo can. It was cheaper and more water tight than the Kubota tool box. The original tool box was broken off.
