    Bucket cam

I have the screen brightness set to maximum, and haven't had any problems yet.. but I can see where that could be an issue. I'd probably just rig some kind of temporary sunshade out of cardboard and tape it to the iPad. As for an older iPad, yeah that would definitely be a possibility. Just...

    Bucket cam

That is an excellent idea. Got me thinking about bending some heavy steel strap into a kind of upside-down U-shape, with some right angles at the lower end of the arms, to bolt to the bucket. Make a protective cage, sort of. Please keep us posted on what you come up with. I'll do the same.

    Bucket cam

Yup, here it is: https://www.amazon.com/Dashcams-Parking-Recording-G-Sensor-Support/dp/B0B7WND1G2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=17RJ3CSB5O005&keywords=arifayz+dash+cam&qid=1690655628&sprefix=arifayz+dash+cam%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-4 When I bought it in June, it was around $45, but now I see it's dropped to $39...

    Bucket cam

If I'm just using the bucket for moving a large rock or a dug-out stump or something, the camera stays put really well. Those magnets are some pretty strong rare-earth types that hold on tight. But yeah, I've smacked the camera a couple times when I'm using the brush forks that I bolt to the...

    Bucket cam

I've been wanting a way to see exactly where the front lip of my loader bucket is, especially when I'm trying to slide it under something to pick up (also when I have my bolt-on brush forks attached and I'm lifting trunk sections of trees I've taken down). Hopping off and on the tractor, to see...

The things you find in your game camera

Springer - Very cool, but I'd definitely think twice before running out in the dark knowing that big ol' furball is out there! Lil Foot - pretty convenient that elk has a dark spot right where a heart shot would go!

    Are you going to.....

First, thank you Wolfman for keeping this thread going. I’d like to offer another view on Covid. I am a participant in the Moderna vaccine trial. No complicated reason, I just got damned tired of feeling helpless in the face of this mess. I’m just short of 70, a cancer survivor (10 years now)...

    Ulysses S. Grant

It's worth taking time to read Grant's Memoirs. I dove in looking for a strategy-level look at the Civil War, was surprised at how articulate Grant was. Also had not realized just how good the team of Grant, Sheridan, and Sherman was. After years of bumbling Union leadership, these guys...

    Anyone planting garlic?

Planted these in late fall, covered them up with straw. They're about 6" tall right now, and I expect they'll grow much faster now that the ground temp is starting to warm up. They were specifically developed in Missouri so they do pretty well here (I'm in east-central MO right along the...

    Old tractors

Pretty cool article about 40-year-old JD's. Even though they're green, it's good to see them still working hard. http://www.startribune.com/for-tech-weary-midwest-farmers-40-year-old-tractors-now-a-hot-commodity/566737082/ Was Kubota building tractors back then? Anybody know who on the...

    Heat?

Got a Water Furnace heat pump 3-ton unit installed, with three 100-foot wells for geothermal source. It's a dual capacity unit, runs on low speed most of the time. Has a 10kW electric heater for emergency warmup but it has never been needed (knock on wood). When heating, the unit also heats...

Best place to pick up hot wire connection

I've got an L3400 so I'll assume our wiring is pretty much the same. Look under the rear wheel fenders for this pair of wires (for an optional light kit). It's switched power, only hot when the key is on. Yellow is hot, black is ground. Instead of cutting and splicing, you can just get the...

    Backhoe vs mini excavator

"... A word of caution on that mini ex ad. I used searchtempest.com which checks all Craigslists if you select "within any distance" and saw that exact add on Craigslists in Rhode Island, Fargo ND, Houston Texas, Colorado and Sacramento Ca. Its definitely a scam add...." Yikes - good catch...

    Backhoe vs mini excavator

I had never considered either a backhoe or a mini excavator until the rains this spring caused all kinds of erosion damage I need to fix along driveway (1/2 mile long), couple of logging trails, and a french drain I need to make. Question to you guys with digging experience: would a backhoe on...
