3 point control B7100HST (newer version)

All back together again and no leaks so far with all new gaskets, o-rings etc. Even took care of a nasty chattering when lifting the 3 point which existed since I bought the machine with 250 hrs on it. The B7100 is a great tractor! Thanks to everyone for the input to get it back to normal.

3 point control B7100HST (newer version)

Just an update on progress. Got the valve seat/o-ring out only after soaking with a 50/50 mix of acetone & transmission fluid. That sucker just would not budge with air pressure. Anyway need to revisit Messicks to get correct 2 o-rings for the control valve to lift cover. Will provide...

3 point control B7100HST (newer version)

Thanks to both NIW and cviola2005 for the good points. I'll zip tie a work glove over the valve to catch the seat. One last question.....is it acceptable to use RTV blue in addition to o-rings when reassembling?

3 point control B7100HST (newer version)

You guys are correct the valve seat w/O ring is still in the assembly. How do I get it out? I have picks but none to go through the hole in the valve seat. Possibly blow it out with compressed air? The leak was coming out where the control valve mounts to the lift cover. I suspect the O...

3 point control B7100HST (newer version)

B7100HST 3 point hitch I took the 3 point hitch control valve apart to fix a leak. Found an O ring in the Relief Valve was missing (see pictures) according to the WSM. There was nothing to indicate an O ring was ever in the Relief Valve. I suspect the O ring was missed from new or the WSM is...

    Super UDT2 Hydraulic Oil

Interesting! I would switch back to UDT in a minute if that would cure the leaks. And best of all UDT is much easier on the wallet than the Super UDT2.

    SIM, That makes sense, thanks.

    Super UDT2 Hydraulic Oil

Your comments are pretty much the same as what my now defunct Kubota dealer mechanic said many years ago. That is, switching to SUDT2 is fine because of better protection and quieter operation. I'll just have to open up the control valve, replace the O rings and hope no more leaks develop.

    Super UDT2 Hydraulic Oil

I agree it is very hard to see the oil level with SUDT2. I use a dry paper towel and lay the dipstick on it to see where the oil level is on the stick. It's the only way I can get a good read on the oil level with these 70 year old eyes :):)

    Super UDT2 Hydraulic Oil

When I did the last 2 hydraulic oil changes on my 91 B7100hst I used Super UDT2 oil. After both oil changes I've had problems with leaks that did not exist before the changes. Both leaks are associate with "O" rings. First was a leak at hydraulic cylinder cap. Got that leak stopped with new O...

    B7100 Overheating

Pastor, Not to change the subject but if your radiator is getting clogged that much I would suggest you also check your air filter after each mowing. It's amazing how quickly the air filter can clog up under dusty/dirty mowing. I have just turned 600 hrs on my B7100 and never had an...

B7100 What am I doing wrong

Bill, Once I have it apart again I'll take the O rings along to Messicks and compare used to new and explain to them my problem. Could be a mix up with part numbers I suppose. We'll see how that pans out. Thanks for the info.
