No you don't have to run it at 540. I actually try to stay off of 540 if I can. I was able to mow some grass today in high 1st with the motor rpm running in the range of 2000-2200. At 2200 rpm I was running 530 on the PTO.

Sub-soil, 8ft disk harrow, and scrape blade. I want attempt the planter or hole auger. At full lift height the Scrape Blade is less than a inch off the ground.

I have a M6800 and the 3 point lift arms want raise high enough. With most or all the attachments I use they are touching the ground at full lift height. I have adjusted all the length at the bottom of the arms (threaded part). Is there any other adjustments to help with the height?

When I bush hog I run a 10ft. offset bush hog. I pull it with a M6800. In tall grass I run it around 2000 rpm in Low 3rd. In shorter grass I run it in low 4th around 1800-2000 rpm. Very seldom do I run the PTO at 540 rpm.
