The B7400 has a filling plug w/dipstick in the floor pan, for the transmission (WSM, p G-13) How is it supposed to come off? I've tried unscrewing, prying with a screwdriver, and pliers; no luck.

I pulled the WSM yesterday off the shelf in the shop, I very rarely look at it, no need to but you are correct, my outboard drives have ball bearings, not tapered rollers. I think the issue lies in taking the front end over design limits and causing bearing failure which is what dale was working on when I walked into the shop. It was a BX series with a front loader on it, filled rears and I have to presume weight on the back though it wasn't on the unit when it was in the shop getting operated on. I think you can equate the failure to exceeding the design limits by carrying too much weight in the bucket on rough ground. I never exceed the design limits and my bearings are substantially larger than say a BX. Why Dale told me my M's have tapered rollers is anyone's guess but next time I'm there I will ask him about that. Checked both the M9 WSM and the 105 WSM. Both the same.

Like I said in the original post, what I was told and what I saw in the shop and nothing more.

In retrospect, I've had numerous Kubota's over the last 25 years or so. Didn't always have large frame Kubota tractors, I started with a 7100 sub compact, moved up to and open station Grand L, then to a 5030 with a cab then to the M's when I started running commercial forage. I not so fondly remember pulling my JD sickle bar mower conditioner with the 5030 and hitting a large pothole in a dirt road and the mo-co pulling the 5030 sideways as it weighed appreciably more than the 5030.

Anyway, lots of Kubota tractors, started small and worked up.... Wish I'd kept the 7100. Was a nice little unit with it's mid mount shaft drive belly mower. The M's are the only no hydro tractors I've ever owned but then a hydro don't lend itself to farm related operations very well.

    Hi there,
I posted the question below as a thread and someone recommended sending it directly to you. Any help would be much appreciated!

I recently bought a new L3901. I had them set up the ag tires to their widest setting so they have a 39.5" gap between them. I'd like to go a lot wider to fit over my beds. Ideally I'd put 4.5" spacers on the back wheels and 3" on the front. I'm concerned about the downward torque it would put on the bearings though, esp. in front when using the FEL. Is it okay to use that big of a spacer? Best place to buy them?

Mr Wolfman, My BT900 has a leak at the control valve when swing right operation is engaged. Can you tell me where to start looking?

    Greetings Mr. Wolfman,

You appear to be the site's authority on questions about Kubota engine swaps, etc. I've got a good one for you. I recently bought a B7200 that had been left out in the weather for a few years with the end of the exhaust pointing to the sky. Everything below the head on the D950 looks like it'd make a good boat anchor.

Now for the question: I found a great deal on a D650 here locally. My research seems to indicate that the blocks are the same, and perhaps the crank and rods as well? If so, my thought is to buy the engine just through in some new D950 pistons and sleeves.

I know I can probably find a D950 used somewhere, but who knows when, and the shipping will probably cost more than what I'll pay for the D650.

    Thanks for your input,

Tried replying but not sure it went thru. Rear tires on that L3130 are Firestone 12.4-24 and fronts are 7.2-16

Is there a r4 tire wheel combo that will fit my L3130 hst 4x4 that will replace the 7.2-16 tires it came with? Wanting to leave the rears r1 that came on it. Don***8217;t want to break something in the driveline while using 4x4 with different tire size up front. Thank you in advance

I would appreciate if you would look at my post on locked wheels. Would appreciate any input, suggestions or thoughts you would have Thanks
