Have inherited this model tractor with my property.Require some person to explain if possible the High/Low ratio lever positions(located on left of seat) ...there seems to be several gates with which to make selections......many thanks...Jim

Jim, Your L2402 has 4 working speeds on the transmission stick shift, and 4 transmission "ranges" on the gated shifter on the LH fender.

This gives your tractor "16" forward and 4 Reverse speeds. Lowest speed is acheived with range selector in #1 position of the gate (shifted to the lowest possible gate setting) and transmission in 1st gear.

Range #2 is located straight back from #1 range position, Range 3 is found shifting up through the gate and putting the lever in the lower-upper gate. Range #4 is located straight back from Range #3, and is the highest gate position on the fender shifter.

Your tractor has speed ranges from .25kph to over 15kph in top gear and top range, (range 4, gear 4)
