My B5000

This poor little tractor was abandoned in an orchard for 5 years. I have spent a few weeks working on it and now everything works, although as you see, breathing aparatus is required for cold starting.
It is a B5000, made mid 1970s, 500cc twin cylinder deisel, 9hp, 6 forward gears, 2 reverse, 4 wheel drive, diff lock, 2 speed power take off. Its just like a full sized tractor.
B5000s were only made for Japanese domestic market, so parts are proving to be difficult to track down. B7000s were imported to Australia, but many parts are different. If you have any parts for a B5000 (such as standard dynamo and exhaust) please get in touch.

Engine parts should be easier to find, as they were consistent. Just get the engine code and order from that. I have B series manuals, let me know if you would like the link to get them.
You might want to look here for the model that most closely matches yours, as I don't see the B5000 listed. Is it really a B5001? That fits the numbering system better.

I have the same issues with my B7001, it uses some B7000 and some B7100 components, but the same D750 engine as many units.

After watching the video, I suggest you replace the glow plugs, should fix the hard starting issue.

I'd love a B5000 manual. But I dont know if an english version exists.

Its definitely a 5000. The 5100 is similar, but has some differences, such as a 3 speed PTO, mine is 2 speed. The engine is 500cc (a D500??) where the 6000 has a 600cc and the 7000 a 750cc.

I've had the glow plugs out and they both work. I want to clean the injectors and clean out the injector pump. The engine only works with the throttle set more than half way. Reduce the setting and the engine stops. Although I feel most of its problems are the lack of compression.

I have tried using the glow plugs, but it makes no difference. They appear to be working, the glowing filament in the dash glows nicely, but the motor cranks into like with the grace of an asmatic pipe smoker.

What is the resistance of the individual plugs?
How many amps should each take?

Maybe they are not glowing as fiercely as required.

You say you have grey market manuals? Any chance of a downloadable parts and service manual for a B5000? While we're talking, could you tell me what, if any, are the differences between the B5000 and the B5100 ?

Don't concern yourself too much with matching the exact muffler.
I used a similar muffler and saved almost $120
