I am new to the Kubota world and have recently purchased an old B7200E. Under the steering wheel next to the fuel shut-off is another pull out cable (presently broken) that looks as if it is supposed to actuate a lever that sticks up from the rear of the cylinder head. Being as the cable is broken it does nothing now, I cannot move the lever by hand and didn't want to break anything by applying any force. I can find no reference to this in my copy of the operators manual for the tractor. I am wondering if it might be a compression release. Tractor seems to operate fine anyway but I am quite curious as to what this might be.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Jay

I kinda figured that's what it might be. Anyone have an idea how much "persuasion" I can safely use to get it moving again?

Thanks,
Jay

I've removed them and then submerged the cable and sheath in penetrating oil and then worked to free the cable up after a few days.

The replacements are 20-25 bucks.

The cable is shot altogether what I'm curious about is how much force I can put on the release lever on the head itself as is seems to be frozen.

Remove the valve cover and free it up with a good cleaning in solvent. They can get gummed right up if not used over time. Too much force will actually bend the lever without rotating the cam.
