I repainted my tractor over the weekend and am now having some electrical issues. The red wire that powers the oil pressure light broke off from the back of the starter switch. On the back of the switch, there are numbers by each terminal. Which numbered terminal do I use? Vic stated to wire it to switched 12 volt at the back of the switch, but some terminals are powered when the key is "on" and some others are powered when the engine is turning over. Not sure which one I should wire it to.

Also, I cant get my headlights or my left rear lamp to work. I tested the wires and there is power to them. I hooked a test light to the neg battery teminal, then checked the power to the headlights and rear lamp. The test light lit, but not the tractors lights.

Is this because I am not getting good ground due to the new layer of paint or do I have another issue? All lights worked fine prior to me painting the tractor so its not the bulbs.

Thanks for the help.

Boomer,

That wire will attach to the terminal indicated as AC at the back of the ign switch.

It will show 12V power only when the ignition is "switched on".

Clean up the grounds, clean up the compression terminals, clean up the base of the bulbs etc. Real common ground fault problems. Also check the continuity of the bulb. The filament may look godd when it's not and you chase your ass around for 3 hours to find that out!

Been there!
