Hello Dave from Chilliwack - why you're just down the street (about an hour or so). Thanks for signing up and welcome to the site.

Fix shouldn't be too hard, I've asked Vic to dig up the parts schematics so he can guide you on a repair a bit better than I can. Another member, Nicky, actually had a similar problem with his PTO on his B7000 - I think he had a busted PTO drive gear. You can see pictures of his situation from our gallery here:

and read about his situation and our answers to it here (look for nicky in the comments):

Now he has a B7000 which might be similar to your B6000. The B6000 is special because it is the only tractor in Kubota's lineup in which the PTO rotates counter-clock wise - so what you see in the pictures above might not be what you have there. I'll get Vic to chime in on his take on your problem after he looks at the parts schematics for your B6000.

He's down in southern Alberta at the moment on a tractor service call so he might not be able to get back to you until later today.

Dave, There should be a seal on that PTO stub shaft that is serviced from the back end of the tractor, similar to what Mr.K was indicating on Nickys tractor.

The service manual for the B6000 is of no help at all, and doesn't cover off the PTO at all. It won't hurt to remove the stub and cover, the seal will be pressed into the housing.

thanks very much,i changed the seal and it does not leak any more.it was hard to find a seal because the kobota dealers manual was hard to read.
