I think my machine is a Z/N, I would like to know for sure of the year too. Can you tell me what this serial number reveals?

On the left side of the transmission housing it reads B7001-13623

Thanks in advance..

Boomer,

You have a very rare 1976! It was the first year of production for your B7001! Think of it in these terms:

The 1964 1/2 Mustang, the 1967 Camaro Z-28 or the 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. Ohhhhhhhh Ya!

First year production is sweet!

Wow thats cool! This machine is spotless. No rust, no dents, doesnt leak a drop of oil. It is completely original. It even had the little wooden block in the toolbox. Behind the dash, I found the original plastic bag of extra fuses. It came with a 4ft finish mower and a plow, (power up, gravity down) loaded rear turf tires. Also came with the original rice paddy rear tires and wheels. Doesnt look like they have ever been used and still hold air. Picked it up for $1,850.00 last summer. Too bad its only 2WD though. Thanks for the info!! Im working on repainting it now. Ill try to post some pics when its done.

Take pics and post them back here! Finding those two fuses in a plastic bag wrapped around a wire behind the dash cluster is akin to finding the build sheet for your '68 Camaro RS/SS jammed in the seat springs !

That is an interesting find, I agree! Also, picking all of that up for $1850 is a good find too! For $1800 or so here in Canada, you get... well.... a pile of scrap! Nothing that resembles a tractor or mower, or both! Nice find. Sounds like you got a good deal! Repainting is a great idea. Have you seen our articles - could come in handy:

Vic mentioned that your B series was built in 1976 so, if you want the authentic color, go for the "first" of the two oranges Kubota used on their equipment - Orange Enamel.

Boomer,

The info I have found does not reveal much but the year it was built. Here is a site that was offered to me thought you might like to take a look.
