OrangeTractorTalks Discussion Forum

Hello again, Mr. K here,

Just a quick update on some of the things we are working on behind the scenes here at OrangeTractorTalks. One of them is a new discussion forum built using a professional grade forum system. Up until now, the communication has been a bit one way – myself or Service Department Vic post some articles and try to handle the comments best we can. We know there are lots of other experts out there too that could share their advice and help the community, so, a forum is the next logical step.

On the new forum you will be able to post your own custom avatar, signatures, tractor pictures, message other users privately, post new threads and reply to others to help them along. Post and help out enough, and you’ll advance through the ranks and gain the admiration and respect of everyone (on the forum that is).

Look for our forum roll out within the next couple of weeks – we’ll send you an email at that time with instructions on how to sign up on the new system.

Watch our Kubota Videos in High Definition

Hello, Mr. K here with a quick tip that lets you watch your favorite Kubota YouTube videos in high definition. This is particularily handy if you want to see the finer details that we point out in our videos that harder to see with lower quality video.

How to Enable High Quality Playback
Simply start playing the video and then move your mouse to the bottom right corner. A menu will roll up that lets you select “HQ” for high quality playback. The video will take a moment to stream in the higher quality content and will resume playing from the position where you toggled the quality.

The HQ button in the menu that rolls up from the bottom right toggles quality between low and high. When the button is red you are on the high quality setting.

Results
Here is a frame from our video on how to clear snow with a snow blade, and you can see the difference toggling the quality setting makes. YouTube in the future might have high quality set to on by default, but for now, you have to select it manually.

Kubota Toilet Seat

While crusing eBay today looking for all sorts of Kubota-related goodies, we came across this Kubota-branded toilet seat. Although it does not look to be an officially licensed Kubota toilet seat, perhaps the higher ups in Kubota will take notice and release their own, official, toilet seats. Expect models available in glide shift and hydrostatic versions this fall, with attachments such as toilet paper dispenser and magazine rack as optional upgrades. Financing plans available from KCC.

Perhaps this will inspire Kubota engineers to develop their own toilet seat in repsonse to growing consumer demand for restroom hardware.

How to Reference Photos from your Comments
The gallery will also come in handy if you are posting comments and want to show others a picture of what you’re describing. What you would do in this case would be:

  2. when you upload your photo you will be presented with a link/URL to its location, copy that link
  3. head back to the article you want to comment on, and simply paste the link in the body of your comments

Once the link to your uploaded photo is in your comments, others will be able to read your comments and follow the link to the photo and see its details.

eBay Tractor of the Week: L3400

This week we found a very clean and very low hour L3400DT listed on eBay – only 76 hours. The L3400 is powered by a 3 cylinder diesel engine that generates about 35hp, 29hp to the PTO which is plenty enough to power all sorts of implements – exactly what the owner, Steve, has been up to on his 5 acre lot.

This week's featured eBay tractor is a L3400DT from Atlanta - very low hours and comes fully equipped with front end loader, box scraper, mower deck, pallet forks and a post hole digger.

This week's featured eBay tractor is a L3400DT from Atlanta - very low hours and comes fully equipped with front end loader, box scraper, mower deck, pallet forks and a post hole digger.

The tractor is a 4WD as denoted by the DT at the end of L3400DT, and it comes equipped with almost every implement you might need: a front end loader, box scraper for grading the drive way, post hole digger, pallet forks and a mower deck.

This Kubota is located in Atlanta for local pick-up only and is priced very competitively. Currently 3 bids with high bid at $10,000. Considering the condition of the tractor and all the implements included, this is really a complete package – manuals are also included. Auction ends in about 6 days as of this writing, so get on over to eBay and check out Steve’s L3400 (auction #270305908800) which is our eBay tractor of the week.

Update: Steve managed to sell his L3400! High bid was $15100 and the new owner still has a warranty until 2009, powertrain until 2010. Great deal!
