I just came from our local Kubota dealer with a bill for over $600 for a rear axel. There are two axel shafts on each side, the longer one at the top which cost me $54 in 1989 and a shorter one that connects to the wheel. This short piece cost much more that I would expect even today. They say John Deer is also proud of their parts too. But I could almost buy an old L245DT for what it would cost me to replace too many parts from the Dealer. I think it's a big rip-off. No wonder folks go for the less expensive tractors, no matter where they come from. Where is the competition?

Incredible story! A company fighting against its own products! This, then, is the reality of free trade and markets regulated by supply and demand. The big question is: how much did Kubota pay the judges for this 'favour'?
